I don't have a Philips frame, but I do own a Kodak and a Westinghouse.
Neither required any software to work -- just fill an SD card with
photos, insert it into the frame, and turn on the power. Various
options (ie - slideshow speed, brightness, etc) can be accessed thru the
buttons in the back of the frame......
Not sure what type of software you're referring to. >> Stay informed about: Need Digital Photo Frame Software |

Thanks. The software I'm referring to organizes all your photos into
albums which can then be accessed from the buttons on the back. In my
case, I have a 2GB card which will hold 'tons' of photos. The photos
can also be rotated, sized, colored, etc. >> Stay informed about: Need Digital Photo Frame Software |

No direct experience of this software but you might want to do some
experimenting. First the rotate/size/etc functions are asy to do with almost
any editing software so that function can be taken care of. But as to the
"album" portion it may be something as simple as putting the photos into
individual folders on the root directory of the memory card. I know htis
works for my MP3 player and may work with your frame. So try making 2
folders on the card named "Album 1" and "Album 2" and put a few photos in
each folder (using a standard card reader and windows (or Mac) software).
Then try putting the card in the frame and see if this gives you the "select
album" functions you want. If so, you don't need the software to make your
frame work the way you want.

Again, I'm not 100% sure....but in my experience with my 2 frames, they
are not "album-aware". As far as I know, I have to place all photos on
the card's root directory and the frame then reads them from there.
Some more expensive frames may have "album" capability, but I would
think that would be hard-wired into the frame - not provided thru
software. My Kodak frame came with Easy Share software, but I have no
idea what it does since I never used it. >> Stay informed about: Need Digital Photo Frame Software |

Thanks - but a little more work with the frame and software showed me
that I HAVE to have the software to set up the albums I want. >> Stay informed about: Need Digital Photo Frame Software |
