There's a new digital camera review in this month's Consumer Reports. I
know, these reports don't tend to be in-depth enough and this one is no
different, but there is still useful information. For instance, there's a
small article about how Face Detection technology works. If you're looking
for a new P&S camera this article could help you quickly narrow down the
choices. Then you could head over to dpreview.com for the deep reviews.
Unfortunately, they didn't pay much attention to the "Super Zoom" category
this time, but they did rate quite a few DSLR's.

On the ConsumerReport.org website, I noticed that several Sony models
(Sony DSC N2, DSC W80, DSC T50, plus the Panasonic Lumix FX30) recently
took over top rankings in the Subcompact Models area, but the Canon A640
is still top-rated in the Compact Models section.

there's nothing more boring than Consumer Reports bashing on the 'net!"

Consumer Reports July 2007 (digicam issue) posted to alt.b.. - The July CR talks about digital cameras. Top choice among Compact Cameras was the Canon S2, last choice was some HP model. Who says CR is dumb about cameras? For Sub-compacts (pocketable) the best choice was Sony DSC-N2. 10 MP, big LCD, no shutter..

Consumer Reports July 2007 (digicam issue) reposted to alt.. - The July CR talks about digital cameras. Reposted to alt.binaries.e-book.technical.

What digital camera review site that you trust? - There are practically hundreds or more sites that provide reviews for digital cameras - steve digicam, dpreview, dcviews, image-resource, dcrecource, photography.com, pcworld, pcmag, etc. What camera review site(s) that you frequently visit and trust?..

Consumer level camera recommendation - I have an OLD sony digital camera that came with my TV 5 years ago. Looking to upgrade to a $150-$200 range, for general purpose picture taking. Not really sure what to look for. I figure something with a good optical zoom lens. Much of the picture..

Digital Photography Review forums not available - DPreview looks like it's been hacked.
