Recently purchased Datawrite 2Gb Compact Flash Card, when I load it into
Canon 350D the camera "locks up and dies" - totally no display etc etc
(Datawrite is brand available in UK/Europe, but I suspect is just a
badge/label on some product from Korea, China or similar.)
Try loading another compact flash card (Including other 2Gb) and still
camera locks up until I remove battery and put battery back in, then camera
works faultlessly. I assume reloading battery totally reboots the camera?
Interestingly card worked the first time I used it when I fired off about 10
shots, and have been able to download these onto PC.
Any ideas as to problem or similar experiences? (And "yes" my recommendation
to myself is to stick to buying Kingston, Sandisk, Crucial etc and not try
to save small amount on CF Card!)
Thanks in advance >> Stay informed about: Datawrite Compact Flash Cards & Canon 350D... Problems. |

I tried reformatting card on PC (FAT not FAT32 seemed to work) and then
reloaded into 350D
Camera then functioned properly, records image files to CF card, HOWEVER,
when I switch off the camera and switch on again...... the camera locked up
again!
Tried reformatting again i could get it to work UNTIL I removed CF card and
reloaded it into 350D, then it locked up the camera again. >> Stay informed about: Datawrite Compact Flash Cards & Canon 350D... Problems. |

I think the card is farkled, and, since you just got it, it should be
returned for refund.

Canon 1Ds Mk III Sensor? - I saw a rumour that the Canon 1Ds Mk III may have a 22MP 12bit 48x36mm CMOS sensor. It would make sense for Canon to have 3 sensor sizes in their future line up (22.5 x 15.0mm, 36.0 x 24.0mm and 48x36mm). So, broken down into consumer/semi pro, pro....
