Post subject: DELAY WRITE ERROR ON COMPUTER, ALL FILES LOST

Hello there

I had taken some dummy pictures to try out this memory card reader
its a trust cr-1200 make.
Now it says can read up to 512mb but with newer cards coming out it can be possible that cards with a higher capacity than mentioned are supported

I have a xd picture card 1gb type m in the model number..........
i inserted it into the card reader, and as normal says do you want to copy or delete the pictures from the camera onto your computer..

I just clicked on cancel because i just wanted to view them, so i was viewing them in the fugi_100 folder, everything was fine , so i then started looking at other pictures i had taken a while ago on the same camera, and decided to copy and paste one into the fugi_100 folder.

Then the pointer on the computer turned to an hour glass symbol for about a minute, and then i got a DELAY WRITE ERROR saying that all the files had been lost, so when i put the xd picture card back in the camera
it was saying CARD NOT INITIALIZED which i know means formatted.. Confused

I then formatted the camera again "on the camera" and took one picture and tryed again, and the same thing happened... Confused

I know i should have copied them to the computer in the first place, but is this happening because i should not have been pasteing another picture into this folder that was from another folder, which could have been formatted diffrently Confused

Bit late to figure that out. Anyway, download recovery manager from:
http://vaiosoft.com/products/recoverymanager.html
It's free, there are many others (some free), but this one is very good.
Needless to say, don't do any more writing to that card until you have
recovered whatever can be recovered.
