I know that I'm grasping at straws here, but I'm looking for anyone
who is familar with this camera. When I use the supplied A/V cables
to connect to my television, I get the same HUD display as is on the
viewfinder. I'd like to use a "full-screen" mode that doesn't have
all the visual junk. I've been through both the thin hard-copy manual
and the extended PDF version, and I've tried googling, but I can't
find any reference to anyone even complaining about this. Either I'm
the only person who cares about this, or I'm missing something
incredibly obvious.
Can anyone help? Thanks! >> Stay informed about: New Sony DCR-SR82 |

I don't have your camera but is it possible that you can change the display
on your LCD to eliminate those unwanted items? I know that I can on my Sony
camera so that only the photo shows in the viewfinder with no extraneous
data. I can select one of three views to display photos that have been
taken. The TV shows what I see in my viewfinder. >> Stay informed about: New Sony DCR-SR82 |

Yes, most cameras have this 'toggling' capability, both in playback
and record modes. >> Stay informed about: New Sony DCR-SR82 |

Apparently if I hook the A/V cables up to the docking station, I get
the "junk", but if I attach it directly to the camera, I don't. I
guess that will have to do for now. Thanks for the response. >> Stay informed about: New Sony DCR-SR82 |
