I am having problems communicating with this device.
I have tried it on WIN2000 and XP SP2 also on a MAC G4 without success.
USB is working on all 3 computers and software, latest from Kodak site was
used.
Inspecting hardware profiles in Control panel shows the camera driver to be
installed.

Any assistance greatly appreciated..

Thanx

My advice would be to get a cheap CF card reader. After the initial
installation, back in 2000, I decided that it was more convenient to
have a USB card reader connected to my computer and not have to deal
with the camera software. That has worked well for almost seven
years.

I bought two CF cards, at the time, and I just swap them between the
camera and the card reader, after a photo session. Works like a charm.

Greetings,

Sorry to hear of the trouble.

Be sure that the card in the camera, if there is one does not have a corrupt
image on it. Or, just try it with a different card that you know is OK.
Also, are the pins bent? A bent pin can cause trouble. Try another cable.
The DC4800 should work with the latest version of EasyShare software.

What version of firmware does the camera have? How long has this been
happening and what happened between the time this occured and it working
normally. Have you been using the camera right along?

Talk to you soon,

Ron Baird

My friend who had the same problem has opted for a card reader and works
quicker and simpler - the Kodak software has been uninstalled from the
computer and indeed his computer runs a tad faster - so all's well.. Thanks
for the advice posted
