I just bought this camera on Friday and took some pictures with it
last night only to come home and upload them to find white spots on
the pics.

I have seen this before in other people's pictures so I'm doubtful it
is the camera but probably the settings.

I need someone's experienced opinion and suggestions on what to do.

Thanks all!

I'll post a picture for example.

That's probably dust in the air close to the camera lit up by the flash
& visible because of the large depth of field. Turning off the flash or
using a smaller aperture number (probably not an option for this shot)
should help.

jenmink78,

Most likely - you are seeing dust in the room being illuminated by the
flash. Either don't use flash, or reduce the dust in the room, or use a
bigger camera (DSLR) where the flash is further from the axis of the lens,
and the depth-of-field is less, both of which reduce the visibility of the
dust.

Cheers,
David
