Archived from groups: rec>photo>digital (more info?)

Costco will do digitzing of 35mm negatives (3087 x 2048) for 29¢ per
frame. I had a bunch of negatives from film that I had had developed
there in 2003, where I had paid for a CD as well, and the scans on the
CD were much lower resolution (1460 x 973) which I didn't realize until
I went to get some prints made from the CD because I wanted to do some
cropping and enhancing. I was going to buy a high resolution scanner,
but I doubt if I could get as good results as the Noritsu for less than
$1000.

Full frame rocks - This weekend I used a Canon 5D for the first time. I was helping a friend of mine shoot a wedding, and we were using a 5D and a 30D. I guess the 30D is also considered a semi-pro camera, but man, what a difference between the two. Even with the same..

I Can't Understand Why Everyone Has Gone Full Frame Crazy - Well, with the exception of very wide angle photographers, I can't understand why everyone has gone full frame crazy. Mmm, no thanks. For example, how much would a EF 480mm f4.0 L IS USM cost? Well, with a cropped sensor camera, around £875 for the....

Another Resolution Question - All, If I am going to upload my pictures to a place like ofoto or walmart.com and want 4x6 prints, what is the best resolution they can handle? In other words, at what point is it "as clear as it's going to get"? I assume they cannot squeeze...

Full Frame Lenses vs Small Sensor Lenses - People say it is not a good idea to purchase the smaller sensor lenses for Nikon and Canon since they would be ineffective if you want to upgrade to a full frame 5D or if Nikon brings out a full frame DSLR. Is there any disadvantage to purchasing only...
