Has anyone seen any prints from the Cannon PIXMA Pro 9500 or the
PRO9000 printers? I currently have an Epson 2200 and R800 printers
and I am looking to upgrade. I have held off because the 2400 still
has some issues with gloss. Granted, there a lot better but not quite
there yet. I use the R800 for my glossy needs and the 2200 for
matte. I have been waiting for info on theses new printers, but
things have gotten quite. Any Word?

comp.periphs.printers might be the better place, and I am xposting it
there with followups there. If this is unacceptable, please just ignore.
But I am curious- does the R800 lend itself better to glossy than the
2200, or is that just how it came out?

You really are not a nice person--at least in the anonymity of the
Internet. One of the purposes of this forum is for people to seek
others' opinions. Your sarcasm helps no one and serves no purpose
other than to massage your apparently fragile ego.

Wow, another "hate-myself" impolite, ill-mannered and boorish net
psycho. I entered here because I was iterested in Bill's well
intentioned question. Mistake.
Yes you do need to be nice. And by your apparent faux-bravado approach
it obvious to anyone that you do seek approval. Most people with your
unsolicited churlish behavior *are* hanging by the thread of a very
fragile ego. You don't need to act stupid. Show a little respect to
others and, who knows, your "pictures" that you are "paid" to "take"
just might improve.
And if you knew *anything* you'd know about Lake Charles. Wake up Helen

The gloss optimizer system used in Epson dye based printers is more than
adequate. I use both a 1280 and an 1800 and comparing glossy prints side by
side it is not the glossiness of the print finish that anyone would notice
as distinguishing the prints.
If you move to Canon printers you are entering a new world of color
management headaches due to the nature of Canon printer drivers and the
marked limitation of their canned paper profiles: basically just glossy and
matte, as those are the only paper surfaces Canon markets. My experience
with inkbased Canon printers is that even low cost custom profile systems,
like the Moncaco Optix XR, yield far superior profiles to what Canon ships
with their printers. >> Stay informed about: Cannon Printers |

My apologies for the misspelling of the company name as appose to the
item that makes a large bang. I didn't realize there were so many
English majors on line. Sometimes you really need to proof read as
appose to letting spell check catch it for you.

Well, Bill in Lake Charles, wherever the hell that is, no sarcasm was
intended. The OP needs to understand that by spelling Canon that way he
simply isn't going to get the info he wants in the search engines.
I'm not paid to be nice; I'm paid to take pictures, and I don't need to be
nice to do so, and I certainly don't need to gain approval from people in
Lake Charles, wherever the bloody hell it is, not that I particularly care.

Well, she is quite intriguing. I have a sense that underneath all that
foul-tempered bravado is a fragile, intelligent, sensitive buttery just
waiting to burst the cocoon of the defensive wall she has built to
protect herself.
