Hi
I'm probably at risk of asking a question that has been asked many
times before, but I'm trying to figure out what type of battery I can
buy for my Sony DCR-HC47 MiniDV camcorder. I know that I have an NP-
FH40 battery that came with it, but I'm looking to purchase another
one that will last about 3 or 4 hours and I don't want to end up
getting the wrong one! What sort of battery can I purchase, is there a
specific type, or is it pretty generic? Can anyone recommend a decent
one?
Many thanks in advance!

A little info I found on a review site
http://www.pma-show.com/0103/sony/camcorder/sony_dcrhc47e_camcorder/
"Sony DCR HC47 miniDV camcorder - Optional accessories
New-generation InfoLITHIUM H Series batteries feature Hybrid
Lithium-Ion cells and ActiFORCE battery technology for higher capacity
and faster recharging plus a more accurate, responsive indication of
remaining capacity. Compatible with all latest Handycam models, three
new batteries (NP-FH100, NP-FH70 and NP-FH50) offer capacities of
3980mAh, 1800mAh and 900mAh respectively. All can also be used with
older camcorders using P Series batteries."

Beware if this is an InfoLithium battery. OEM versions may not work, as
Sony batteries have an internal code, which is changed occassionally.
I tried 4 or 5 OEM InfoLithium batteries before I got one that worked

Hi there,
I have the Sony DCR-HC 32 and I personally don't need another batttery
because the on that came with it is just enough for an 80 min tape if you
only use the viewfinder and not the LCD screen.Notice, however that you
should buy an original sony battery and not some generic, because the sony
camcorder batteries have a microprocessor implemented and it could be even
dangerous, because Lithium reacts violently if it is exposed to air...
