My CX7530 is going on four years old, and I've never had a problem
with it until the last several weeks. Basically, it thinks any battery
I put in it is dead. I can put in fully charged NiMH, kodak NiMH
battery packs, or a brand new alkaline batteries and snap a few
photos, but out of nowhere I get the low battery light and it switches
off. The batteries show a full charge with a multimeter, and I can put
them in other electronic devices and they work just fine.
I checked inside the battery compartment and there was nothing
obviously wrong, like corrosion or something physically blocking the
connectors. To test the battery compartment door connectors, I bridged
the gap between the batteries with a small piece of aluminum foil,
which I have sucessfully used in the past on a cheapy little webcam/
camera. However, this did not do anything.
Has anyone else had this problem? The camera only cost be $150 and I'm
getting quotes of at least $100 to repair it, so if it is not a simple
fix, I would probably just get an equivalent 5MP camera.
Thanks in advance!
