A supplier is advertising 2GB CF cards at a lowish price, but warns that not
all cameras will work with capacities as big as this.
Anyone know if a Rebel / 300D will work with 2GB? Actual experience would be
even better.
I can't find any relevant help in the manual.

FWIW I use a 2Gb CF in my Pro S1 without any problems.

I'll save you the trip. Fast cards are wasted on that camera.

Now, if you want to talk about how long it will take to read a slow card via
a USB port, that's a different story.

Yes 2GB CF Cards will work just fine & I say this from personal
experience.

> Actual experience would be even better.

Before you buy a CF card however, you may want to check out this sight
to see which cards work best (speed wise) in you camera:

http://www.robgalbraith.com/bins/multi_page.asp?cid=6007-6425

In general most major name brands that carry a lifetime warrantee
should be fine. Some people are willing to pay extra for faster cards
even if the camera they have now won't benefit from it & there are 2
reasons way that *may* be worth doing.

<1> In the future your next camera may benefit from the faster speed.
<2> When using a fast USB 2.0 or Fire Wire card reader, it will take
less time.

I have both a 300D & a 30D & have been very pleased with
Sandisk Ultra II cards both for their, speed, reliability & cost
effectiveness. Just make sure you buy from a reputable source.

Hope this link helps their is a lot of good information there.

Respectfully, DHB

My most recent 2 GB card is a SanDisk Extreme IV. It's capable of about
twice the speed of a SanDisk Extreme III and more than four times as fast
as an Ultra II. The Extreme IV is not yet listed on the site you
referenced.

Here's a link to all SanDisk cards that are compatible with the 300D

Thanks. Interesting that it's on the page you referenced but I still don't
see it on the page that DHB referenced; that is,

And SanDisk does not have Canon 30D on the compatible list yet... If I
haven't known better I could think that SanDisk does not support the
30D...'
