I cannot find anyway to check the battery level on my DX 7630. The
display meter does appear when the battery is on it's last legs but I
can find no way to chheck it manually.

Any Ideas

Greetings,

Sometimes, if a NiMH battery is not used often it can change its
physical state enough to reduce its ability to provide power. Once it
is used a few times it returns to normal. So, if that might be your
case, I suggest allowing for a full discharge and recharge a couple of
times. This activity should bring your battery back to full use.
Current docks will do this for you.

Good Luck, Sir Rauke, let me know if there are questions.

Ron,

Thanks for the reply. I have never had a problem with battery life,
the only issue I have is that I can never see the battery meter on the
LCD screen of the DX 7630 until, the battery is almost dead. I cannot
find anyway to check battery level in the menu structure. Other Kodak
Digital Cameras I own, show the meter in the display all the time. The
entire rest of the display functions as I would expect.

Greetings,

Actually the cameras are built to alert you to a low battery. If the
power in your battery comes on you likely have about another 10-15
minutes of power left (my guess). If it is on all the time, then I
suspect that the battery has not been charged correctly, or that you
might be using non recommended batteries? Not sure what other cameras
you hve but let me know and I will follow up on this issue.

Talk to you soon,

It is NOT a battery meter, but a low battery warning indicator.

My DX-6940 lasts a good 150-200 photos with and without LCD, before it runs
out.

I dont recall ever seeing the Battery sign warning until it's gettings very
low. I bought a 2nd battery and have hardly ever had to change in action -
they really ar quite durable...

Good camera with 10x zoom !!
