Looking at the Canon BP-511, BP-511A and BP-512 batteries, they all seem to
be the same. I have a Canon G6 and I use both the BP-511 from my old G5 and
the BP-511A that came with the G6. Now I am shopping for new batteries and
find a third available: the BP-512 also compatible with the G6.
I know the often have different mAh ratings even if the model number is and
the same the higher that number the more power you get. Otherwise, am I
missing something else or are they all the same?
Does anyone know the difference??
Thanks, your input is highly appreciated!!

Canon BP-511A / BP-511 / BP-512 / BP-514 batteries
are interchangeable the main difference being the capacity
the later models giving more potential output (or greater
longevity).

There is also a slight casing difference, but not significant

Just be careful because "later" is not the order in which they're
presented. The 511 and 512 have the same rating as each other, which
is lower than the rating shared by the 511A and 514.
