Perhaps someone can help; I want a very, very good photo printer (purchase
price is not too much of an issue); I don't need an all-in-one (although I
will buy one if it gives better print); I don't want to print text (just
photos); I don't need anything bigger than A4; I want borderless output; I
want 6 (or more) seperate ink cartridges; I print Glossy most of the time; I
would like a seperate 5x7 tray and an A4 tray; I would like ethernet or
firewire if possible; I would prefer a small(ish) footprint; I have memory
card readers built in to my computer; I don't need an LCD (although I
wouldn't rule one out if it helped with menus).

All A4 printers seem too cheap to be plausible (except for the Epson R800
which seems very long in the tooth by now)! I want to replace my Epson RX700
who's software seems a bit flakey.

Any suggestions?

TIA,

Roger

The Epson R800 was called the PX-G900 in Japan. Although there was never a
PX-G910, there was a PX-G920. Which is history. The current model over here
is the PX-G930.

My PX-G900 has died out of warranty twice now, and they've picked it up,
fixed it, and returned it for less than US$100 each time. (Along with an
unintentionally sarcastic note not to let so much dust get into it.)

The R800's real nice...

Roger: I have the Epson SPR2400. It goes up to 13" x 19" paper and can
print on a variety of media. One of the best features of the printer is
that it uses the K3 inks, which are also used by my large 3800 and 9800
printers. The worst feature (a perennial Epson jab) is the need to change
cartridges to go from photo black to matte black.

The 2400 is not cheap, but it produces excellent images. And there are
profiles available for a variety of papers. Worthy of your consideration.
