I was wondering if anyone could please suggest the proper settings for
this camera when photographing in bright daylight in the Caribbean--
bright white sand and blue water. Have been practicing outdoors at home
shooting scenery-- grass and trees and the photos many times come out
almost white. Figure the Caribbean will be 10X worse.

Hi.

If it is set to Auto Exposure, then the photos should be very close to
correct.

Are you checking on the Camera LCD, or your Computer display?

If it is the first, then something is seriously wrong with your Camera.

If only the latter then your Monitor needs Calibrating.

Thanks for the reply Roy. The photos are too bright even after they are
downloaded onto my computer. I have a one week old flat panel computer
monitor, and other pictures are gorgeous, so...Guess I will try a few
more photos today and if not successful, send it for repair.
