I have it. Originally got it to try out an older macro lens. Worked fine,
but I don't have
any other older Oly lenses. People who do seem very happy - not as good as
the newer
dedicated lenses but the older ones can be found for much cheaper.
Limitations are
manual focus only, aperture priority only - and the view from the viewfinder
will get darker
with smaller apertures as there is only stop down(?) metering.

Doesn't the adaptor ring come in the camera package?

Nope. They sell it, for what seems like an extortionate price for a
static piece of metal (about $200, IIRC). I've also heard that you may
be able to get one for free for the asking, if you've recently purchased
an E-series camera, but that's not publicized anywhere.

Yes, that's it. I've read a few forum posts where the OPs noted that they
had requested the adaptor from Oly and received it.

I agree. One of the older lenses that I picked up was the 50mm f1.8. I
eventually traded it in (along with the 50mm Macro that I got) for the 50 f2
macro lens.

I originally had the E1 and then got an E300 as a second body. At the time
you
had to fill out a form on Olympus' website to be listed as interested in the
adapter.
I got it for free.
